SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Southern Conference named its volleyball players of the week Monday for games played Nov. 8-14, as Wofford's Emily Hodsdon tallied her third SoCon Setter of the Week honor this season as selected by the league office for the final player of the week selections of the year.
 
Hodson averaged 12.29 assists as Wofford went 1-1 with a win at ETSU and a loss at Chattanooga. The Alpharetta, Georgia, native dished out a match-high 51 assists, her seventh contest this season with 50-plus assists, in a four-set win over the Bucs on Friday. She added nine digs, five kills, three service aces, and four blocks in a well-rounded performance. On Saturday, the sophomore tallied 35 assists and 10 digs, earning her ninth double-double of the season, in a 3-0 loss at Chattanooga.
 
Wofford (15-13, 9-7 SoCon), the No. 4 seed, battles No. 5 seed Western Carolina (11-16, 7-9) in the first quarterfinal match, set for 11:30 a.m. CT / 12:30 p.m. ET.  
 
Also nominated for offensive player of the week: Sara Esposito (ETSU), Bella Tolone (Furman), Jaida Howell (Mercer), Kenya McQuirter (Samford), Maia Rackel (Chattanooga), Bailey Hartsough (Western Carolina) and Sarah MacLean (Wofford).

Also nominated for defensive player of the week: Abbey Thomas (ETSU), Andrea Aceveda (Furman), Megan Smith (Mercer), Andie Salasky (Samford), Marcelle Baez-Carlo (Chattanooga), Destinee Dorsey (Western Carolina) and Kaitlyn Brown (Wofford).
