SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford College head baseball coach Todd Interdonato announces today the 2022 slate of games for the Terriers.
 
"Each year we set out to create new and unique challenges for our program with our schedule, and we have it again this year," said Interdonato. "Only having seven conference weekends allows us to have some flexibility in how we handle our early season games and opponents. We have a variety of new teams coming to King Field this year, as well as a great trip to Texas for our spring break. Being able to play two weekend series on the road at Belmont and DBU will help prepare us for tough conference trips later in the season. It's a great schedule with some very challenging opponents, and we are ready to get started."
 
Wofford will take the diamond in 2022 following one of the best seasons in the program's history. The Terriers concluded 2021 with a 36-21 record overall, 21-9 in Southern Conference play en route to the program's first-ever regular season conference title. It was also a program-best for wins in league play.
 
The schedule features 56 games total. There are three neutral site games in a professional park set to take place at Fluor Field in Greenville, S.C., home of the Greenville Drive, High-A Affiliate of the Boston Red Sox. Wofford will play 32 games on its own campus at Russell C. King Field.
 
The old saying is that to be the best, you have to beat the best. The Terriers will have to do just that, taking on three opponents who appeared in the 2021 NCAA Tournament; Dallas Baptist, Presbyterian and last season's SoCon tournament champion Samford. Wofford will also take on a Power Five opponent in SEC member Georgia, with two games against the Bulldogs.
 
The SoCon slate features seven weekend series for a total of 21 games. The Terriers will have four series at home and three on the road. SoCon play begins on Friday, April 8 with UNC Greensboro coming to town.
 
Wofford opens at home with a weekend series against George Mason at Russell C. King Field from Feb. 18-20.
 
The Terriers then hit the road, traveling to Athens, Ga. for a midweek contest against Georgia on Feb. 22. The following weekend, Wofford will play two games at Fluor Field in Greenville, S.C. on Feb. 25 and 26 against Monmouth and Marist, respectively. That Sunday, Feb. 27, Wofford plays host to Monmouth before heading back to Fluor Field for a midweek neutral site contest against Georgia on March 1.
 
The Terriers then enjoy their longest stretch of home games on the season, 12-straight from March 2-16. The homestand begins with a midweek contest against UNC Asheville followed by a four-game weekend set with Pennsylvania. The next week sees back-to-back midweek affairs with Georgia State and Kennesaw State. Lafayette comes to town for a weekend series, followed by midweek action against Cincinnati and Winthrop.
 
The Terriers then travel to Nashville, Tenn. to take on Belmont for a weekend set from March 18-20. Then the Terriers return to Spartanburg but travel across town for a midweek contest at USC Upstate. Next, a weekend slate against Gardner-Webb will have games one and three at home for Wofford, with game two in Boiling Springs, N.C. The Terriers host Winthrop on March 30 to conclude the month.
 
Wofford hits the road for a Lone Star State road trip before conference play starts, taking on Dallas Baptist from April 1-3, and then playing Tarleton State in a midweek game.
 
On April 8, SoCon play begins for the Terriers, as they start off with back-to-back home series with UNC Greensboro and East Tennessee State.
 
Wofford then faces its longest road slate on the year, heading to Clinton, S.C. for a midweek matchup with Presbyterian on April 20. Next will be road series with Mercer and Samford. The road trip concludes with midweek action at UNC Asheville.
 
The Terriers' final games at Russell C. King Field will feature weekend series against The Citadel and Western Carolina, with a midweek game against Presbyterian sandwiched in-between.
 
The regular season concludes with an away series against Virginia Military Institute.
 
The Southern Conference Tournament is set to take place from May 24-29 at Fluor Field in Greenville, S.C.
