SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford head baseball coach
Todd Interdonato announced on Monday the addition of
Josh Schulman to the coaching staff. Schulman will serve as the pitching coach and recruiting coordinator for the Terriers after previously serving as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for Yale from 2018-21.
Â
"When Josh left for Yale in the spring of 2018, we were always looking for an opportunity to bring him back into the program because we saw first-hand the impact he can have in so many different areas," said Interdonato. "He is one of the most thoughtful, genuine and well-intentioned individuals I have met in any walk of life. Our players are so fortunate to be able to welcome a person into their lives whose best trait is how much he cares and will invest in them as individuals. His experience at Yale as the recruiting coordinator has only enhanced his value of what he can bring to Wofford Baseball. We could not be more excited to welcome Josh back into our family!"
Â
At Yale, Schulman handled baserunning and catching, helping the Bulldogs steal an Ivy League-best 114 bases in 2019. Before joining the Yale staff, Schulman previously served as a volunteer assistant with Wofford for two seasons from 2017-18. He was a part of Wofford's incredible 2018 team in his first stint with Terriers, helping the squad reach the 35-win mark for only the second time in program history with a 36-23 record. The Terriers also posted a program-best 15-9 SoCon record. During his first year with the Terriers, the team won 28 games overall and were 13-11 in the Southern Conference, just the second winning season in league play in school history. The pitching staff had an ERA of 5.42, which was ranked fifth in the SoCon.
Â
Before joining Wofford the first time, Schulman was an assistant coach with the Pomona-Pitzer Baseball Program from 2015-16, also serving as pitching coach and then adding on recruiting coordinator duties following the 2016 season. Previously, Schulman served as a volunteer assistant coach for his alma mater, the University of Rochester, upon graduating in 2015 and after also serving as an assistant coach with the Victor RailRiders of the PGCBL.
Â
A native of College Station, Texas, Schulman graduated from Rochester in 2015 with degrees in Political Science and English and earned his Masters in Sports Management from Texas A&M in 2017.
