KENNESAW, Ga. – Six Terriers scored in a competitive non-conference matchup with the Kennesaw State Owls, as Wofford put out a nine-goal first-half performance to hold second-half leads behind season-highs from
Elisabeth Ralph,
Ally Furnari and
Olivia Abé , though, the Owls (4-3) would pull away to drop the Terriers 25-13 at Sports Park Field 3.

Wofford's 13 goals marked a season-high, as Ralph led the Terriers with a season-high six points, matching career-highs in points and goals with five on 11 shots on goal.

The five goals mark the most recorded since Ralph did so a year ago against American on March, 7, 2020. The junior also dished an assist in addition to compiling a team-best five draw controls and two caused turnovers.

Ally Furnari tallied a season-high three goals, including two free-position, while adding an assist, three draw controls and two ground balls, while sophomore
Olivia Abé also registered a four-point performance with a season-high two goals and two assists, in addition to two caused turnovers.

Leah Hurley dished a career-best two assists while netting one goal, asÂ
Emma Gentile and
Emma Krasinski round out the Terriers' scoring efforts with a goal apiece. Gentile would also record an assist to couple with four draw controls and a ground ball.

Senior
Hannah Wurzel won three draw controls and scooped a ground ball on defense, along with
Maeve Moran contributing a pair of caused turnovers and ground balls each and one draw control. Despite the loss, senior goalie
Kelsey Thompson tallied a career-high 18 saves on the day to go along with three ground balls.

Wofford played with an edge in the first half, leading by as much as four points, in winning 11 draw controls to the Owls' eight to support a first-half draw at 9-9 through the opening 30 minutes.

Despite claiming the edge in saves for the match, 18-12, the second half would make all the difference, seeing the Owls gather a second wind in erasing an early Wofford lead to pour on an insurmountable 34-12 shot difference that ultimately led to the double-digit loss.

Emma Krasinski struck the first goal of the match within the opening minute to start on a positive note, as costly Kennesaw State fouls led to back-to-back free-position goals for
Olivia Abé and
Ally Furnari to boost a 3-1 lead seven minutes in. Both teams traded goals, seeing Ralph pour in two consecutive from
Emma Gentile and
Leah Hurley, before a Wofford 3-0 run busted the Terriers' largest lead of the half at 8-4 with 8:38 left.

Furnari would find Abé for Wofford's sixth goal in the 15
th minute prior to Abé then dishing to Gentile for another goal to go up 7-4. Ralph would then bury her third goal of the half on a free-position shot after an Owls foul to pace Wofford to the 8-4 advantage.

The Owls responded resiliently, hanging four unanswered on Wofford to deadlock the match at 8-8 by the 4:34 mark, as Kennesaw State would take the lead, though, a late Ralph score tied things up with 49 seconds left to send both teams into the intermission all knotted up.

Goals from
Ally Furnari and
Elisabeth Ralph held an 11-10 edge for Wofford through the opening minutes of the second frame, though, a furious 5-0 run swiftly reclaimed a 16-11 margin in favor for the Owls with 20:34 to play.
Leah Hurley gave the Terriers some support in finding the back of the net in the 18
th minute, but the Owls' attack continued to persevere in adding three more goals to extend an 18-12 lead.Â

Furnari capitalized on a free-position shot with 13:51 remaining as Wofford's last hope of momentum, however, the Owls would firmly take control of the remainder of the match to finish out recording seven more goals to ultimately come away with the 25-13 victory at the final horn.
