SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Southern Conference announced its postseason awards for the 2021 spring season on Tuesday afternoon, as Wofford's
Matthew Copeland,
Ryan Marter and
Matthew Larkin were all named to All-SoCon teams by the league's coaches. Copeland and Marter were tabbed All-Southern Conference performers, while Larkin earned a spot on the All-Freshman team due to the absence of last year's postseason all-conference awards.

The Terriers tied for the most all-conference selections overall (3) with ETSU, while Wofford and ETSU were the only two teams to land two or more players on the all-SoCon team.

ETSU's Archie Davies and Furman's Keller Harper were named the SoCon's Players of the Year, as Davies also claimed the conference's Freshman of the Year nod as the individual medalist at the 2021 SoCon Championships. ETSU head coach Jake Amos was tabbed the conference's coach of the year.

Marter, a senior from Columbia, S.C., earns his first all-conference nod after finishing second in the conference with a 71.86 stroke average through 21 rounds played this spring. The team's leader in stroke average, Marter notched two top-10 finishes and a top-15 finish, highlighted by becoming the first Wofford individual medalist with a career-low score of 209 (-7) at the Wofford Invitational on April 13. Marter tied for third at the Furman Intercollegiate on Mar. 28, as he recorded a career and round-low 66 on the final day to finish with a 2-under-par 211 at the par-70 Furman Golf Course, while also finishing tied for 11
th at the Pinnacle Bank Intercollegiate on Feb. 23.

Copeland, a junior from Maryville, Tenn., adds all-conference recognition after finishing fifth in the SoCon with a 72.58 stroke average through 24 rounds played. Highlighted by a runner-up finish at the Pinehurst Intercollegiate on Mar. 14, Copeland recorded an impressive four top-10 finishes, marking a team-high for the 2021 season. Copeland finished sixth at the Pinnacle Bank Intercollegiate with a score of 217 (+1) on Feb. 23 prior to tying for second at the Pinehurst Interecollegiate with a 217 (+4). The junior then tied for seventh at the Furman Intercollegiate on Mar. 28, highlighted by a career and round-low 65 in the second round en route to a 214 (+1), before concluding the season with his final top-10 result, tied for ninth, with a score of 220 (+4) at the Southern Conference Championships in Greensboro, Ga. last Tuesday, April 13.

Larkin, a native of Atlanta, Ga., notches his first career all-conference honor as one of just six underclassmen among the SoCon's top-20 leaderboard. Larkin finished with the team's third-best stroke average of 73.75, as the sophomore honed in to see improvement over the latter portion of the schedule with two top-10 performances and a top-15 finish in three of the final four tournaments on the year. Larkin recorded career-best finishes on two occasions, as he tied for seventh at the Pinehurst Intercollegiate with a 219 (+6), while accomplishing the same feat at the Wofford Invitational with a career-low 3-under-par 213 for the tournament. Additionally, Larkin notched a career and tournament round-low with a 66 in the tournament's first round at the Country Club of Spartanburg. Larkin then concluded strong at the Southern Conference Championships, finishing tied for 15
th with a score of 222 (+6).
Overall, Wofford finished with the conference's second-best stroke average (72.78) under first-year head coach
