Women’s Soccer Announces Signing Class

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford College women's soccer coach Emily Grant has announced that ten student-athletes have signed National Letters of Intent or letters of commitment to join the Terriers in the fall of 2021.
 
"This class is full of incredibly well-rounded soccer players," said Grant. "They are all coming from very high-level club environments and will provide another injection of athleticism and talent, immediately. We are very excited about adding another group of fantastic players."
 
The group includes three forwards, one midfielder, three defenders, one midfielder/forward and two defense/midfielders. Five different states are represented in the class.

• Four-year starter at forward and earned All-Region honors as a freshman, sophomore and senior
• Set a school record with 57 career goals
• Named All-Region in volleyball and honorable mention All-Region in basketball
From Coach Grant: "Megan is a big, strong attacking player that has a huge upside. I think her ceiling is tremendously high and her speed and strength will provide important depth for us as an attacking player."

• Four-year starter, earning All-Region honors four straight seasons and was the team's top scorer in 2019 and 2020 with 21 goals in each season
• Named All-State in 2018, 2019 and 2020
• Team won the 2018 state championship and was ranked #1 in the nation in 2020 by MaxPreps
From Coach Grant: "Ashley provides a hunger to score goals that we haven't had in recent seasons. Whether as a winger or a center forward, Ashley is constantly racking up goals and assists. She will be a force to be reckoned with and will help push our attacking play to new heights."

• Four-year letter winner with 15 career goals and four assists
• Scored a goal in the 2020 state championship game, resulting in the school's first 4A state title
• Reached the national playoffs in 2017 and 2018 with Jacksonville FC
From Coach Grant: "Sophia is a player that I've watched since a very young age. She has incredible vision and is capable of pulling the strings the way an attacking central midfielder should. Though very skilled at creating, Sophia can also score just as well. We are very excited about Sophia's potential impact."
 
Sydney Holland

• Four-year letter winner at Mauldin High School, winning a region title as a freshman
• Had seven goals and an assist as a freshman and scored eight goals with seven assists as a sophomore
• Member of the National Honor Society and Beta Club
From Coach Grant: "Sydney is a ball-winning, feisty midfielder. She is the true meaning of a box-to-box midfielder with an engine that never quits. She is also great in the air and her technical ability will bolster our midfield group."

• Four-year starter and the team reached the second round of the state playoffs in 2021
• Named to the East-West All-Star game in 2021 and was named first team All-Conference
• Earned Academic All-Conference honors
From Coach Grant: "Kylie is an athletic defender that thinks the game at an incredibly high level. Her technical ability and composure on the ball will allow her to fit seamlessly into our style of play."
 
Millie Murphy

• Four-year starter and earned All-Conference and All-Region honors, along with a selection to the 2021 East-West All-Star game
• A three-time ECNL National Champions League qualifier
• Father, Sean, was an All-American soccer player at Wofford, along with her uncle, Dan
From Coach Grant: "We are really looking forward to Millie's athleticism and versatility. She can play anywhere along the back line and as a winger. I am confident Millie will push our level very quickly."
 
Kylie Rincon

Atlanta, Ga. | Riverwood International Charter | Concorde Fire
• Three-year varsity starter and team reached the Elite Eight her senior season
• As a sophomore was named All-Region as she led the region in scoring
• Club team won the ECNL southeast region in 2019 to advance to the nationals
From Coach Grant: "Kylie has versatility as an outside back/outside forward. Her speed and her technical ability will fit our system very well. Kylie has the potential to make an immediate impact for us."
 
Hailey Roth
Defense | 5-10
Aiken, S.C. | South Aiken | CESA ECNL
• Four-year starter and earned All-Region honors three times, along with All-State recognition
• As a senior, was named Co-Region Player of the Year and selected for the 2021 Clash of the Carolinas game
• Competed in the ECNL Nationals with CESA
From Coach Grant: "Hailey is an outside back with incredible pace. Her ability to distribute in a variety of ways makes her very dangerous moving forward. Hailey is a very well-rounded player that will bolster our back line."
 
Katie Sanger
Defense/Midfield | 5-3
Charlotte, N.C. | Charlotte Latin | Charlotte Soccer Academy
• ECNL Mid-Atlantic Championship and advanced to the national playoffs
• Was named All-Conference second team and All-Region in 2019 as the Charlotte Latin team was 22-1
• Added All-State, All-Region and All-Conference first team honors in 2021 with a state runner-up finish in NCISAA
From Coach Grant: "Katie is an intelligent, technical midfielder. She does the simple things really well and can be a difference-maker in the center of the field.  Katie will add to our already very talented midfield."
 
 
The eligibility of all student-athletes is contingent upon admission to Wofford College and compliance with all NCAA rules, including registration with the NCAA Eligibility Center.
