JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – The Wofford College men's and women's indoor track and field teams took part in the ETSU Track and Field Invitational on Friday and Saturday at the ETSU/MSHA Mini-Dome.
Jasmine Jefferson won the 400 meters,
Kerrington Johnson won the 60-meter hurdles,
Tanner Henry won the high jump and the men's 4x400 relay took first place to lead the Terriers.
On Friday in the field events,
Christopher Sheppard was sixth in the triple jump at 12.93 meters. In the track finals on Friday,
Mary Claire Ridgeway was sixth in the mile with a time of 5:19.65.
Jasmine Jefferson won the women's 400 meters in 58.54 and
Theron Bradford was second in the men's race at 49.93, followed by
Elijah Bull in fourth at 50.40 and
Conor Murphy in tenth place at 51.25.
Kerrington Johnson was tenth in the preliminaries of the 60 meters. In the 4x800 meter relay, the women were fourth and the men were seventh.
During the events on Saturday,
Mary Claire Ridgeway was third in the women's 800 meters at 2:26.15 with
Chloe Gilbert ninth and
Kimber Keene tenth.
Tanner Henry won the men's high jump as he cleared 2.08 meters to set a new school record. In the women's 60-meter hurdles,
Kerrington Johnson was first in 8.66 and
Netanya Linares was second in 8.96. In the men's 60-meter hurdles, three Terriers reached the finals with
Grant Witherspoon fourth at 8.83,
Tanner Henry sixth at 8.95 and
Elijah Bull seventh at 8.97. Johnson added a ninth place in the 200 meters at 26.25 and
Cameron Dalton was tenth in the men's 200 meters at 22.43.
Rylee Jorgensen was fourth in the long jump at 5.45 meters. In the 4x400 relays to end the day, the men's team of
Theron Bradford,
Cagan Campbell,
Conor Murphy and
Elijah Bull was first in 3:19.49.
The meet featured fifteen teams, including NCAA Division I teams from Appalachian State, UNC Asheville, USC Upstate, East Tennessee State and Wofford.
The Terries will next compete on January 21 at the Samford Invitational in Birmingham.
