Â
Wofford (9-7-3, 3-4-2 SoCon) meets Chattanooga (7-4-5, 5-1-3 SoCon) in the tournament for the second-straight season. Last year the two played to a 1-1 draw, with the Mocs advancing 5-3 on penalty kicks. This year, the Terriers handed Chattanooga its only loss in SoCon play last Friday in a 2-0 win.
Ansley Elizalde and
Haley McCaffrey netted the two goals for Wofford. The win marked Wofford's first win over Chattanooga since 2014. The two teams have met in the postseason three times, with Wofford holding a 2-0-1 record over the Mocs.
Â
The Terriers come off a 2-1 win over No. 9 Furman in a rivalry showdown in the SoCon First Round this past Tuesday. The Terriers got the offense rolling early, with
Megan Childress opening the scoring at the 16:16 mark off a pass from
Lexi Reichenbach.
Mia Bookhard doubled the lead just shy of the 18th minute, giving Wofford an early 2-0 lead. The Paladins scored a goal in the closing minutes, but the Terriers held on to advance to the quarterfinals.
Â
Wofford earned its first-ever postseason win over Furman and first SoCon Tournament win since 2019, when the team defeated VMI 2-1. Â
Â
The Terriers are led by SoCon All-Freshman Team selection
Ansley Elizalde's four goals and eight points, both team highs. Bookhard has recorded three goals and an assist this season while McCaffrey has added two goals.
Alexis Mapplebeck leads the team with three assists while adding a goal.
Â
On defense,

Of the seven clean sheets, four came against conference opponents including a stretch of three consecutive SoCon shutouts against ETSU (1-0), Furman (0-0) and Mercer (0-0). Her nine-save effort against Furman earned her SoCon Defensive Player of the Week, with Doss out-doing that performance with a career-high 11 saves against Mercer in the following game. The most recent shutout for Doss came last Friday in Wofford's 2-0 win over the Mocs.
