SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford College men's and women's track and field teams took part in two last chance meets to secure better marks heading into the NCAA Regional selections.
At the Montreat Last One Best One on May 6,
Jenna Reid was first in the javelin at 46.16 meters which set a new school record.
The Lee University Last Chance Meet was held on May 14 in Cleveland, Tennessee. In the high jump,
Tanner Henry cleared 2.00 meters in the men's event and
Netanya Linares was second in the women's event at 1.67 meters, which was a new school record. The women's 4x100 relay team of
Destiny Shippy,
Georgia McDevitt,
Rylee Jorgensen and
Madeline McNinch finished first with a time of 45.85 that was a school record in addition to being a facility record.
Kerrington Johnson added a facility record in the 100-meter hurdles in 13.88 to take first place.
Jasmine Jefferson ran a 56.44 in the400 meters.
The final date of NCAA competition is May 15, 2022, with the qualifying list available on Monday, May 16. The top 48 individual event student-athletes and relay teams accepted into Preliminary Round competition on May 25-28 in Bloomington, Indiana, will be announced and posted on NCAA.com the week prior to Preliminary Round competition.
