BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Two members of the Wofford College track and field team competed at the 2022 NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field East preliminary competition held at Indiana University.
 
Kerrington Johnson ran the 100-meter hurdles and Jenna Reid competed in the javelin on Thursday afternoon. This is the fourth straight season that the Terriers have advanced at least one participant to the NCAA East Preliminary.
 
In the 100-meter hurdles, Johnson ran a 13.60 to place 29^th of the 48 qualifiers, with the top 24 advancing to the quarterfinals on Saturday. It was tied for her second-fastest time in the event. The junior from Anderson, S.C., won the 100-meter hurdles at both the 2021 and 2022 Southern Conference Championships.
 
Reid, a junior from Nova Scotia, Canada, had a throw of 44.46 meters on her third attempt to finish 32^nd overall out of the 48 competitors. She holds the school record in the event at 46.16 meters and was third at the 2022 Southern Conference Championships. She was the first female from Wofford to advance in a field event.
 
The top twelve qualifiers out of the two regions (24 total) will compete in the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships held June 8-11 in Eugene, Oregon.
