Box Score DAVIDSON, N.C. – On Thursday night, the Wofford College women's soccer team was defeated on the road 1-0 by Davidson College at Alumni Soccer Stadium. The Wildcats earned the win with a goal in the 81
st minute of play.
In the first half, the Terriers had a 3-2 lead in shots.
Ashley Grant had a shot blocked in the 13
th minute, while
Mia Bookhard and
McKenzie Guest each had shots saved in the 33
rd minute. Wofford had three corner kicks in the final two minutes of play, but were unable to get a shot on goal.
To open the second half, the Wildcats had the first four shots with three going wide and one saved by
Caroline Doss. The Terriers had a shot by
Meara Kelly go wide in the 64
th minute. After each team had two more shots, Davidson scored at 81:08 to take the lead. Neither team was able to get another shot on goal in the final nine minutes.
The Terriers fall to 2-2-1 on the season, while the Wildcats are 4-0-1 as they have posted three straight shutouts.
