LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Wofford College men's and women's indoor track and field teams took part in the Brant Tolsma Invitational hosted by Liberty University on Friday and Saturday. The Terriers had numerous top ten finishes at the meet.
During the running events on Friday,
Madeline McNinch was 13
th in the women's 200 meters at 25.56 and
Cameron Dalton was seventh in the men's 200 meters at 22.23. In the 5,000 meters,
Alexus Atkins was fourth at 18:29.25, followed by
Ava Fowler in sixth place at 18:51.10. For the men in the 5,000 meters,
Carson Archie was fifth at 15:38.71. In the Friday field events,
Madeline McNinch was ninth in the long jump at 5.35 meters.
Nevius Fisher was fifth in the men's long jump at 6.70 meters, with
Christopher Sheppard eighth at 6.47 meters.
In the field events on Saturday,
Tanner Henry was second in the high jump at 2.04 meters and
Christopher Sheppard was ninth in the triple jump at 13.58 meters. In the finals of the 60-meter hurdles,
Kerrington Johnson ran 8.69 for third place and
Netanya Linares was sixth in 8.90. For the men in the 60-meter hurdle finals,
Grant Witherspoon was fifth at 8.60 and
Sebastian LaTorre was eighth at 9.25. In the finals of the 60-meters,
Nevius Fisher was seventh at 7.03.
Jasmine Jefferson was fourth in the women's 400 meters at 57.10. To wrap things up in the 4x400 meter relays, the men were fourth (A) in 3:30.74 and sixth (B) in 3:34.18. The women's A team was fifth in 3:55.22.
Including Wofford, 16 schools competed in the meet this weekend, including American, Army, Campbell, Elon, Marshall, Radford, UMBC, UNC Wilmington, VCU, and William & Mary.
Up next for the Terriers will be the VMI Winter Relays on February 3 and 4 in Lexington, Virginia.
