Box Score Johnson City, TN- Wofford women's soccer began the first leg of their Tennessee road trip with a 4-1 loss to ETSU on Sunday, October 8.
The Buccaneers put themselves ahead in the 19th minute on an Aliya Cooper goal and extended the lead to two right before the half off the foot of Kinsten Evans in the 41st minute. Two more goals in the second half would produce the final 4-1 result.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Rylee Godbold posted six more saves in the match to take over the team lead with 28. Godbold has converted at least five saves in all three of her starts.
Junior
Ashley Grant broke up the Buccaneer shutout bid in the 74th minute off the
Meara Kelly assist. Grant's goal was the first goal conceded by the Buccaneers on their home pitch this season. Kelly also tied sophomores
Saachi Bureau and
Ansley Elizalde for the team lead in assists.
Wofford will stay on the road in their next match, traveling to Chattanooga in a rematch of last season's Southern Conference tournament quarterfinals won by the Mocs 2-1.
