SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford College football head coach
Shawn Watson has announced that Michaelee Harris has joined the coaching staff for the 2024 season. Harris will work with the wide receivers.
"We are excited to have Michaelee Harris join our coaching staff here at Wofford," said head coach
Shawn Watson. "Michaelee was a great player at Louisville during my tenure there as offensive coordinator and he was a player-coach. I saw him early in his career become an excellent teacher in the wide receiver room after he had an unfortunate knee injury. I am excited to get him as part of our staff."
Harris, a graduate of the University of Louisville, has spent time on the coaching staffs at the University of Illinois and the University of Miami. This past season he was the head coach at Miami Northwestern High School, his alma mater.
During his playing career at Louisville, he earned three letters as a wide receiver. As a freshman he started 12 games and had 37 catches for 455 yards and a pair of touchdowns from Teddy Bridgewater. He missed the 2012 season due to injury and in 2013 had 15 catches for 195 yards and a pair of touchdowns in 12 games played. He played in eight games in 2014 with nine catches for 113 yards and a touchdown. Harris graduated with a degree in communications.
He began his coaching career at the University of Akron, working with the wide receivers under assistant coach Jeff Bowden. He joined the University of Illinois staff in 2016 as an offensive analyst for head coach Lovie Smith. Harris moved to the University of Miami for the 2017 season as an offensive graduate assistant, primarily working with the wide receivers. The Hurricanes reached the ACC Championship game and played in the Orange Bowl.
Harris then began work in Miami Dade County Public Schools at Miami Norland, Miami Northwestern and Miami Carol City High Schools as a football and track coach. A native of Miami, he won a state championship as a player at Miami Northwestern.
