SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford College men's basketball alumni Nathan Hoover and Fletcher Magee will be playing in the NBA 2K24 Summer League over the next two weeks. Hoover will be with the Memphis Grizzlies, while Magee will be with the Houston Rockets.
The Grizzlies begin action on Wednesday, July 5, in Salt Lake City against the Oklahoma City Thunder on NBA TV. The Rockets begin play on Friday, July 7, in Las Vegas against the Portland Trail Blazers on ESPN.
Magee and Hoover were key contributors during the 2018-19 basketball season in which the Terriers were 30-5 overall, including an 18-0 mark in the Southern Conference. They won the Southern Conference Tournament and then won their opening round game in the NCAA Tournament against Seton Hall before falling to Kentucky.
Hoover, a 2020 Wofford graduate from Memphis, played in 137 games with 103 starts for the Terriers. He scored 1,619 career points with 378 rebounds, along with 165 assists and 69 steals. During his senior season he led the team in scoring with 514 points while starting all 35 games. He played last season with Iraurgi SB in Azpeitia, Spain.
Magee, a 2019 Wofford graduate from Orlando, Florida, scored 2,516 career points with the Terriers. He started 123 of 134 career games played, while adding 221 assists and 93 steals. He set an NCAA record for career three-pointers made with 509 as he was named the Southern Conference Player of the Year among numerous accolades. Magee has played professionally overseas, most recently with SC Derby in Montenegro.
