GREENVILLE, S.C. – At the 2024 Southern Conference Football Media Day on Tuesday at the Hotel Hartness, Wofford had nine players recognized by the league's coaches on the preseason all-conference first and second team. The nine selections were the most for the Terriers most since the 2019 season.
In addition, the conference's nine head coaches picked Wofford to finish eighth in the preseason poll with 19 total points. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own student-athletes or team as part of the balloting.
Five players earned spots on the first team, the most in the league. Senior running back
Ryan Ingram, who led the team in rushing and rushing touchdowns last season, was joined on the first team by senior tight end
Jordan Davis. Senior defensive lineman
Brandon Maina was an All-Southern Conference second team selection a year ago. Senior linebacker
David Powers led the team in total tackles with 102 last season, while junior safety
Maximus Pulley was second on the team in interceptions and first in recovered fumbles.
Those on the second team include senior offensive lineman
Anthony Garcia and junior offensive lineman
Quincy Hughes. Two specialists were also included on the second team, as junior kicker
Bridger Jones and sophomore long snapper
Tommy DiLiegro were honored.
The Terriers will begin practice on Monday, July 26, in preparation for the season. A complete practice schedule will be available at www.woffordterriers.com.
