Women’s Basketball 2024-25 Schedule Unveiled

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The 2024-25 schedule for the Wofford College women's basketball team has been revealed as head coach Jimmy Garrity announced the non-conference slate in conjunction with the Southern Conference releasing the league portion of the campaign. The Terriers are set for 27 total match-ups with 13 non-conference affairs and 14 league bouts. Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium will play host to 14 total home games for the Terriers this season.

Wofford will see quality tests in its non-conference schedule in preparation for another season of Southern Conference action. The Terriers are set for trips to three power conference opponents, highlighted by a tilt in Columbia, South Carolina, against the defending national champion South Carolina. Other key out-of-conference road match-ups include trips to SEC foe Kentucky and ACC member Duke. Old flames will be rekindled with match-ups against former SoCon foes Davidson and App State.

"We are looking forward to having our students back on campus as we prepare for another basketball season," said Garrity. "The schedule our staff has put together will be demanding and provide tough competition for our program. We have a nice mix of non-conference opponents as we play teams from nine different conferences, including the defending National Champions, South Carolina. Our non-conference schedule should prepare us well for Southern Conference play. I am proud of the work our players and staff have put in over the summer. We look forward to another exciting basketball season."

The Terriers open the campaign at home for the first time since 2021 by hosting Newberry on Monday, November 4. Three-straight road games then follow, beginning with the first of two trips to Durham, North Carolina, this season with a game against North Carolina Central on November 9. The Terriers then battle Kentucky (Nov. 12) and Davidson (Nov. 16) to round out the road trip.

Returning home on November 19, Wofford hosts Southern Wesleyan to kick off a slate of four consecutive home tilts. The Terriers will host High Point on November 21 and UNC Asheville on November 26. Concluding the homestand and opening December is a match-up against App State on December 7.

On December 18, the Terriers make their second trip to Durham to face Duke. Wofford sees a first-time opponent on December 21 with a trip up to Pennsylvania to battle Lehigh. On December 19, the Terriers face the Gamecocks in Columbia before returning home to host Erskine on January 2, opening the new year. Non-conference action concludes on January 4 with a home match-up against King University.

Southern Conference play begins one week later in Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium when Wofford hosts rival Furman on January 11. The following weekend sees UNCG (Jan. 16) and Western Carolina (Jan. 18) come to Spartanburg.

The Terriers make their first conference road trip by heading to Macon, Georgia, on January 23, to face Mercer. Two days later, Wofford faces Samford in Alabama.

Back in Spartanburg on January 30, Wofford welcomes Chattanooga to town before concluding the weekend with a game against ETSU on February 1.

A three-game road swing ensues to open the back half of conference play. First, the Terriers head down I-85 for the second rivalry match-up against Furman in Greenville on February 6. A Tar Heel trip takes place the next weekend with bouts at Western Carolina (Feb. 13) and UNCG (Feb. 15).

Samford comes to town on February 20, and Mercer enters Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium on February 22, concluding the home slate of action. The regular season ends the following weekend on the road with trips to ETSU (Feb. 27) and Chattanooga (March 1).

The Southern Conference Tournament takes place in Asheville, North Carolina, and runs from March 6-9 at the Harrah's Cherokee Center – Asheville.

Wofford is coming off a 17-13 record in the 2023-24 campaign with an 8-6 SoCon clip, which marked the sixth year in a row at .500 or better for the Terriers, both overall and in conference play. Last season saw more firsts for the program, including an ACC victory at Virginia.

The Terriers enter 2024-25 with 12 total players, including eight returners and four newcomers. Returners include seniors Rachael Rose, Helen Matthews and Mia Flor, alongside reigning SoCon Freshman of the Year Evangelia Paulk and her fellow all-freshman team member Maddie Heiss.
