JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – The Wofford volleyball team's comeback fell short at ETSU, losing 3-1 on Friday night inside of Brooks Gymnasium. The Terriers fall to 14-12, 10-5, while ETSU improves to 20-6, 15-1.

The Terriers totaled 42 kills on a .129 hitting percentage, while ETSU finished the night with 59 kills at a .204 clip. Wofford dished out a total of 40 assists to ETSU's 56. The Bucs claimed the advantage for the set pieces, tallying eight aces compared to three for Wofford. Both teams finished with six blocks each. The Terriers had 60 digs while ETSU had 73.

Bradley Brown paced the team with 15 kills and three blocks.
Chloe Smith followed behind with eight kills.
Taylor Pecht and
Maddy Frazier orchestrated the offense, with Pecht handing out 22 assists and Frazier with 14. Joining Brown at the net were
Chloe Smith and
Annemarie Rakoski who recorded two blocks each.
Laney Klika led the team with 21 digs. Â

Natalie Arnold got things going in set one, and it led to an early 4-2 lead for Wofford. ETSU would battle back for a 7-5 lead, but Wofford scored four-straight points to take the advantage again. The Terriers would keep the set under control until the Bucs rattled off a 7-1 run. With Wofford trailing 16-13, ETSU would go on to take set one 25-19.

ETSU led 7-2 early on in set two before Wofford would have to burn a timeout. With ETSU leading 10-3, the Terriers rallied to cut the deficit to four points, 14-10. The Bucs responded with seven-straight points to take full control of the stanza. ETSU would take set two 25-13.

It was back-and-forth to start set three, with both teams trading leads. ETSU would go up by two points, but the Terriers kept it within striking distance, tying the set at 11-all.
Bradley Brown scored three points in a row, giving the Terriers a 13-12 lead. Another kill from
Bradley Brown forced an ETSU timeout with the team leading 19-17. A last-stitch effort from the Bucs would fall short, and the Terriers would take set three 26-24.

The Terriers jumped out to a 4-0 lead after a
Chloe Smith solo denial to start set four. ETSU answered, however, tying the stanza at six-all before taking its first lead of the set a few rallies later. The teams would trade blows from there until the Bucs went on an 8-1 run. ETSU would force a Wofford timeout, leading 18-13. Back-to-back blocks from
Annemarie Rakoski made ETSU burn a timeout with Wofford trailing 22-19. Despite trailing 24-21 with ETSU having match-point, the Terriers fought their way back to tie it up 24-24. The Bucs would close the night with back-to-back points, taking set four and the match.
