From the Athletics Director’s Desk -November 2025

It is hard to believe how fast the fall semester has flown by as we head into the Thanksgiving break. Our fall sports have represented us well, with the men's and women's soccer teams both winning SoCon Tournament games, volleyball earning the #3 seed in the upcoming SoCon Tournament, cross country making strides, and the football team winning five of its last six games. We also signed 57 student-athletes to enroll in the fall of 2026, with more expected when football signing day takes place on December 3.
As we head into the heart of basketball season, both the men's and women's teams have a challenging non-conference slate before the SoCon schedule begins. The men's basketball team earned a big win over the University of North Florida on Wednesday night in front of an awesome student crowd. There are plenty of opportunities to see the teams at Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium in the upcoming weeks and be on the lookout for ticket deals and promotions as we build a great environment for our student-athletes.

SOCON FACULTY AND STAFF HONORS
The Southern Conference named its All-Southern Conference Faculty and Staff Team on Tuesday, with two representatives each from all 10 member schools being recognized by the league. Wofford's Dr. Stacey Hettes and Mark Olencki were among those honored. You can read the full release HERE.

VINTAGE LOGO
In response to a trend toward vintage looks and alumni demand, the Office of Marketing and Communications has worked with CLC, our licensing provider, to release a vintage Wofford Terrier logo, fonts and colors. It's intended to enhance — not replace — official college logos. For our home football game on November 22, we will highlight this new logo by painting it at midfield of Gibbs Stadium, along with placing the logo on the helmets for one game. This will be the first time a logo has been on the gold helmet in over 40 years. The Terrier Club will auction off one of these one-of-a-kind helmets later this year. Look for each sport to have a vintage event this season.
ONE HOME FOOTBALL GAME LEFT
The Terriers have won five of their last six games and close out the regular season on Saturday, November 22. We will be recognizing 20 seniors before the game, and in conjunction with Wofford ROTC, it will be our annual military appreciation game. It will also be the last chance to take part in all the pregame activities of "Terrier Town" in front of Gibbs Stadium. Single game tickets are available. Click here (https://woffordterriers.com/tickets) for more information and tickets.

SEE YOU IN ASHEVILLE
The back-to-back Southern Conference champion volleyball team will head to Asheville this weekend to defend their title. Wofford will enter the tournament as the #3 seed and will face Samford in the quarterfinals on Friday at 7:30 p.m. The Southern Conference, in conjunction with Ingles, Explore Asheville, the Asheville Buncombe Regional Sports Commission, and Harrah's Cherokee Center, will host its 2025 Ingles SoCon Volleyball Championship at Harrah's Cherokee Center – Asheville. The 2025 volleyball championship marks the first time in the conference's history that the tournament will be hosted exclusively at a neutral location for all teams.
