Football Welcomes 14 Newcomers on Signing Day

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – On Wednesday, the Wofford College football program announced the signings of 14 student-athletes to financial aid agreements or letters of commitment.

The 14 include five players on offense, seven players on defense, and two specialists. The student-athletes are from five different states, including five from South Carolina and three each from Florida and Georgia.

"This class, as well as the initial signing class in December and with the transfer class, has provided us an opportunity to address a number of needs that have transpired in the portal period, as well as needs to get our team to move forward," said head coach Shawn Watson. "I appreciate the great efforts of Devin Watson, who is our recruiting coordinator, and all the assistant coaches in this process. We started working the Monday after Thanksgiving break and we just finished. And it was a tremendous amount of work evaluating, vetting, visiting, and closing deals. I'm just really pleased with all their hard work and how we've been able to upgrade our roster."

Ethan Drumm and Joshua Hodge are freshman early enrollees and joined the team at the start of the spring semester, along with December signee Reggie Houston.

This group of signees join the 12 from the early signing period in December, along with 12 transfers that joined the team in January and February, to give the Terriers a total of 38 newcomers.

The Terriers will begin spring practice on March 4. The eligibility of all student-athletes is contingent upon admission to Wofford College and compliance with all NCAA rules, including registration with the NCAA Eligibility Center.
