Men’s Tennis Defeated at UNC Asheville

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – On Wednesday afternoon, the Wofford College men's tennis team was defeated 4-3 by UNC Asheville at the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown. The Terriers won the doubles point, but the Bulldogs answered with wins in four of the six singles matches to secure the victory.
 
Wofford started doubles with a 6-4 win at the #3 position by Daniel Clivio and Jack Burdell. The Terriers were able to clinch the doubles point with a 6-4 win at the #2 position by Ian Rasheed and Hugo Rask. The #1 doubles match was unfinished with the Bulldogs leading.  
 
The Bulldogs won the first two singles matches at the #3 and #4 positions. Jack Deveney was able to win 6-1, 7-6 (7-4) at the #2 position to tie the overall match at 2-2. Wofford took the lead as Robbie Young won the #1 position by a 6-2, 7-5 score. The final two matches went to three sets, with the Bulldogs winning at the #5 and #6 positions to take the match.
                                                                                                
The match was previously scheduled for March 6, but was delayed due to weather. Wofford (4-9, 0-3) will return home on Thursday, March 27, to host Ouachita Baptist at the Reeves Tennis Center. The Bulldogs are 9-4 overall.
