Four Terriers Earn Big South Lacrosse Postseason Honors

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Four members of the Wofford College women's lacrosse team were recognized with postseason Big South honors on Thursday as announced by the league office. Bria Foley was named Co-Offensive Player of the Year, while Foley and Barrett Rowe earned first team All-Conference recognition. Olivia Graebner received second team All-Conference recognition, while Brooke Meltcher was an honorable mention All-Conference. In addition, Bria Foley was named to the All-Academic Team. 
 
Foley, a senior attack from Walpole, Massachusetts, has started all 18 games for the Terriers. She has 57 goals and 46 assists on the season for 103 points, becoming only the sixth player in league history with 100 or more points in a season. Among Big South leaders she is second in points per game (5.72), second in assists per game (2.56), and sixth in goals per game (3.17). For the Terriers, she has set single season records for points, goals, and assists along with career records for points and assists. This marks the third season she has received All-Big South honors. Foley is the second Terrier to ever earn a Player of the Year honor.
 
Graebner, a redshirt freshman from Yardley, Pennsylvania, started all 18 games for the Terriers in the midfield. She had 25 goals and seven assists for 32 points, which ranked fourth on the team. She added 32 ground balls and 31 caused turnovers. She is sixth in the Big South in caused turnovers per game (1.72).
 
Meltcher, a sophomore defense from Wading River, New York, started 17 games this season and had 58 ground balls with 21 caused turnovers. She is ranked second in the Big South and fifth in the nation at 3.41 ground balls per game. She added four draw controls and had one assist.
 
Rowe is a junior defense from Richmond, Virginia, who started all 18 games this season. She leads the team in ground balls (59) and caused turnovers (32). In the Big South, she ranked third in ground balls per game (3.28) and fifth in caused turnovers per game (1.78). She is also seventh in the NCAA in ground balls per game. Last season she earned All-Big South second team honors.
 
Overall, the team has set school records for overall wins with nine and Big South wins with five. Wofford qualified for the Big South Tournament for the first time and secured the first postseason win in school history on Tuesday against Winthrop in the quarterfinals. The team also set school records in points (335), goals (234), assists (101), shots attempted (512), ground balls (360), and caused turnovers (196).
 
The All-Conference team is voted by the head coaches and features two teams of three attackers, three midfielders, three defenders, one goalkeeper and three at-large selections, plus five honorable mention honorees regardless of position. The All-Academic Team consists of one student-athlete from each institution that meets the criteria and is nominated and selected by the league's sports information directors.
