SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Southern Conference today announced its weekly volleyball honors with Wofford's
Bradley Brown tabbed as the offensive player of the week. The selections are made by the league office.
Â
This honor serves as the second of Brown's career after earning it once her freshman season. The selection marks the fourth-straight week a Terrier has been recognized.
Laney Klika was tabbed defensive player of the week last week while
Annemarie Rakoski claimed it the two prior weeks. The last time Wofford earned four consecutive players of the week was in 2023 when the team had a player tabbed six-straight weeks.
Â
Brown dominated the net en route to a 2-0 start in league action last week. The sophomore found eight kills on a .500 hitting percentage in what was a 3-0 win at The Citadel. She followed that up with a career-high 16 kills in another sweep against Western Carolina. She recorded a .842 hitting percentage against the Catamounts – the highest hitting percentage by a Terrier since Lauren Miller recorded a .842 percentage against Presbyterian in 2015 (min. 10 kills). Brown became just the second Terrier in program history to record 15 or more kills while maintaining a hitting percentage of at least .800.
Â
For the week, Brown led the conference in both points per set (5.58) and hitting percentage (.697). The Florence, South Carolina, native tallied four kills per set to rank third in the conference. She also finished fourth in the conference with four service aces.
Â
The Terriers wrapped up the first week of conference play with back-to-back sweeps against The Citadel and Western Carolina. Wofford will embark on a road trip this weekend as the team will travel to Samford on Friday and Chattanooga on Saturday. First serve on Friday is set for 7:30 PM ET.
