SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford defense
Barrett Rowe has been named the Big South Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for games played March 22 - March 29, as announced today by the league office. Furman's Lily Toole was named offensive player of the week, and Longwood's Peyton Daley was named freshman of the week.
Rowe, a senior from Richmond, Virginia, started the week with team-highs in ground balls (5) and caused turnovers (4) against No. 10 Clemson. Her form did not slow midweek, grabbing another seven ground balls in the conference opening win against the Lancers. She also added three caused turnovers in the 22-9 win. Rowe tacked on two more caused turnovers and one ground ball as Wofford continued its perfect start to Big South play. She has played a pivotal role in holding opponents to under ten goals in both conference games so far.
This is the sixth Player of the Week award this season for the Terriers, the second most in Wofford history; 2024 saw seven Player of the Week awards. She is the fourth Terrier honored this season, tying the program record set in 2024. This is her second defensive player of the week award for her career, earning the honor on April 15, 2025.
Wofford (4-7, 2-0) will travel to Greenville, South Carolina, to face the Furman Paladins in Paladin Stadium on Wednesday, April 1, at 7 p.m.
