SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford earned a pair of women's honors as the Southern Conference indoor track and field men's and women's specialty awards were announced Wednesday. The awards were voted on by the league's nine indoor coaches.
 
Sherika Christie earned Most Outstanding Field Performer honors for the third year in a row. Christie won the pentathlon with a personal best 3,794 points and won the long jump with a school record distance of 6.05 meters. A junior from St. Catherine, Jamaica, she added a win in the triple jump at 12.30 meters. She was also eighth in the shot put and ninth in the high jump.
 
Christie was also named the Southern Conference Most Outstanding Athlete at the conclusion of the meet for the third time. She is the second Terrier to earn Most Outstanding Field Performer honors, along with Netanya Linares (2022).
 
Taylor Jennings-Ward, a sophomore from Suffolk, Virginia, won the 400 meters in 54.58. She was second in the 60 meters and eighth in the 200 meters. She was also a member of the 4x400 relay team that was second overall. She is the third Terrier to earn Most Outstanding Track Performer honors, joining McLeod Dean (2019) and Jasmine Jefferson (2024).
 
Wofford will open the 2026 outdoor season on March 20-21 at UNC Asheville.
