SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford College and AFL have announced the Student-Athlete Leaders of the Month for February. The month's honorees are Sherika Christie from the women's track and field team and Jack Deveney from the men's tennis team.
Christie, a junior from St. Catherine, Jamaica, was named the SoCon Most Outstanding Field Performer for the third year in a row following the 2026 Indoor Championship. Christie won the pentathlon with a personal best 3,794 points and won the long jump with a school record distance of 6.05 meters. She added a win in the triple jump at 12.30 meters. She was also eighth in the shot put and ninth in the high jump. A humanities major, she has been named to the SoCon Academic Honor Roll.
A junior from Bearsden, Scotland, Deveney has won five matches at the #2 singles position this season. In doubles, he has four wins at the #1 position. The 2026 Southern Conference Championship will be held from April 16-18 in Chattanooga. He is majoring in international affairs and accounting and has been named to the SoCon Academic Honor Roll and the CSC Academic All-District Team.
