ATLANTA, Ga. – The Wofford baseball team secured a 7-4 win in a midweek matchup against Georgia State on Tuesday evening at the GSU Baseball Complex. The Terriers (22-11, 5-1) were down early but came back to hold off the Panthers as Wofford scored six runs over four innings to capture the win.
Branton Little made the start for the Terriers, pitching two innings. Little gave up three hits and two runs while striking out two batters.

Sheldon Egger,
Davis Rivers,
Miller Alston,
Champ Davis, and
John Gray followed in relief. Laughlin (1-0) and Alston struck out two batters while on the mound. Gray pitched two innings without allowing a hit while striking out two batters to earn his first save of the season.
Niko Brini led the Terriers with two runs on two hits with one RBI.
Marc Quarrie followed with one run scored on one hit with two RBI.
After a scoreless first inning, Wofford scored in the top of the second inning on a sacrifice fly by
Lucas Manning to bring
Andrew Mannelly home. Georgia State had a double with one out in the bottom of the second and an RBI single tied the game at 1-1. Another single and a fielders' choice followed to give the Panthers a 2-1 advantage.
The Terriers came back in the third with a double to left field by
Niko Brini. A double by
Marc Quarrie drove home Brini to tie the game at 2-2. Wofford kept the Panthers scoreless for the next four innings. The Terriers' fourth inning saw three walks to load the bases. With
Cade Collins at the plate,
Hunter Herndon scored on a wild pitch to lift the Terriers 3-2 over the Panthers. A ground out by
Niko Brini drove home one more run in the inning to bring it a 4-2 lead. The Terriers quickly retired Georgia State's batting order before coming back in the top of the fifth to score two more runs. After a hit by pitch and a walk,
Hunter Herndon hit an RBI single for a 5-2 lead. A sacrifice bunt by
Tanner Hardin brought in another run for a 6-2 contest.
The Terriers allowed one hit in the bottom of the sixth but held off any runs for the Panthers. Wofford had a single by
Logan Tribble after
Niko Brini was walked and stole second base.
Marc Quarrie hit a sacrifice fly to right field to drive home Brini for a 7-2 ball game. The Panthers picked up momentum in the bottom of the seventh after a quick inning for the Terriers. Georgia State started their half of the inning with two walks and two quick outs. The Panthers hit a single down left field to drive home two runs to cut the Terriers' lead to 7-4.
John Gray and Wofford's defense held off the Panthers for the last two innings to clinch a 7-4 win in Atlanta.
