SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford College conducted its 172^nd annual Commencement Exercises on the lawn in front of Main Building on Sunday morning. During the event, the college awarded 453 Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees. The graduates included over 80 student-athletes receiving degrees in May, August, and December.
 
The college conferred honorary degrees on four individuals: Ashley Richardson Allen, Christopher A.P. Carpenter '90, Dr. Nayef Samhat and Prema Samhat.
 
The Phi Beta Kappa induction ceremonies were held on Friday, May 15. Student-athletes in the group included Will Berger (men's cross country/track and field) and Paolo Vela (men's soccer). Carlie Cutinella (women's lacrosse) and Garett Dall (rifle) were commissioned as second lieutenants in the United States Army and both were distinguished military graduates.
 
Also on May 15, the college's annual Honors Convocation was held in the Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium. Academic departments recognized their outstanding students, and a variety of other leadership and citizenship awards were presented during the event. Student-athletes recognized included:

Mathematics, the John Q. Hill Award: Will Berger (men's cross country/track)
Senior Order of Gnomes: Vivian Chiomento (women's lacrosse)
The Outstanding Citizen Award: Vivian Chiomento (women's lacrosse)
