SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- The Wofford College women's soccer team fell to Georgia State University, 0-3, after two early goals from Aaliyah Faddoul at the GSU Soccer Complex on Sunday evening.
First Half
Georgia State was quick to action with a goal from Aaliyah Faddoul in the fourth minute.
Wofford continued to add pressure but was unable to get through the Panthers' defense. The Terriers had their first chance of the game at 31:12 with a free kick but were unable to capitalize.
At 37:21, Georgia State scored again with a deep strike from Faddoul with an assist from Brielle Delgado, giving the Panthers a 2-0 lead.
The Panthers continued to control the possession, outshooting Wofford 21-2 and ending the half, 2-0
Second Half
Going into the second half, both teams battled for possession. Wofford had two free kicks in the early minutes of the second half, providing two opportunities for the Terriers.
GSU had a shot by Sunniyah Tucker that went off the top post and after minutes of deliberation was ruled a goal at 55:45, extending the Panthers lead to 3-0.
Carson DeMars had a shot on goal from a corner kick that went wide in the 59th minute. Wofford continued to put on offensive pressure with another shot on goal from Satya Tarafdar that was saved by Alondra Iriarte.
The Panthers tried to extend the lead further but was stopped by Chloe Cundiff, who subbed in for Elizabeth Navola early in the second half. The Terriers were unable to break through offensively, ending the matchup with the Panthers up, 3-0.
