Women’s Soccer Postponed Against Presbyterian Due To Weather

SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- The Wofford women's soccer team played 35 minutes against Presbyterian College, but after lightning strikes and heavy rain in the area, the game was postponed.

Before the match, Wofford honored their seven seniors in their senior day ceremony.

First Half
The Terriers and the Blue Hose had a tight start, with an even split on possession in the beginning of the first half.

At 24:02, Presbyterian struck first with a goal from a shot by Emma Brown.

Wofford continued to find opportunities with shots from McKinley High and Julia Grier, but they were unable to find the back of the net.

After an extreme thunderstorm warning and lightning in the area, both teams were sent off the field and at 4:00 p.m., officials and coaches decided to end the match and discuss a time to reschedule.

Up Next
The Terriers will continue at home with a match against Winthrop on Sept. 10, at 6 p.m. at Snyder Field. The game will be streamed on ESPN+ and live updates will be available at woffordterriers.com or @WoffordWSoc on X (formerly Twitter) and @woffordwsoc on Instagram.
