Wofford Rifle Competes At SEARC 2

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford College rifle team competed in the SEARC 2 match on Saturday, October 16 hosted at The Citadel Marksmanship Center. Overall, the Terriers fired a 2152 in NCAA scoring to finish fourth.

Stephen Bryant was the top scorer for Wofford at 562, as he has led the team in each match this season. N.C. State's Will Teller topped all shooters for the day with a 581. Also shooting for the Terriers were Cody Chesneau (533), Cameron Ledbetter (531), and C.J. Tria with a career-best score of 526. Jenna White (453) and Jack Wisham (512) also shot, however their scores were not counted in the NCAA scoring totals.

In the NCAA competition, The Citadel men's team claimed first place with a score of 2278, ahead of N.C. State, who finished second with a 2266. The Citadel women's team finished third, topping both Wofford (2152) and Mercer (1806) with a score of 2207.

The Citadel concluded the SEARC 2 competition with a score of 2286, topping second place opponent N.C. State with 2266. North Georgia College and State University completed the SEARC top three with a score of 2218. Clemson came in fourth shooting a 2208, followed by Wofford with a 2152. Mercer and Georgia Military College rounded out the scoring with an 1806 and 1769, respectively.

The Terriers will continue the season on November 6 when Wofford travels to Anniston, Alabama for the SEARC 3 match.
