BOONE, S.C. -- The Wofford College men’s and women’s cross country teams finished 11th and tenth respectively, as Trey Parker’s 25:42.94 set a new Terrier school record on the men’s side at the Southern Conference Championship Meet host by Appalachian State University.
It was the second time this season that Parker set a school record. He broke his previous mark of 25:52.4 with his time of 25:43.94 as he finished in 22nd at the the meet. Parker is the only Terrier in program history to turn in a time under 26 minutes as he has broken the mark in his past three races.
Mavrick Harris followed Parker with a 27:42.65 in 69th place, as Russell Baker, 28:00.91, Matt Menard, 28:18.01, and Ben Boyles, 30:30.34 round out the Terriers top five.
On the women’s side, Andrea Kelsey turned in a time of 18:49.39 as she finished in 18th place to pace the Terrriers. Kelsey's time was the best time of a Terrier at the Southern Conference Meet and the highest finish of a Wofford runner ever. The previous high mark, was Lauren Bosshardt's 30th place finish in 2006.
Kim Stauffer ran a 19:51.34, and Alyssa Burkert turned in a time of 20:02.35 for 60th and 64th. Caitlin Dodd, 20:50.20, and Katie Kessler, 20:57.74 completed the Terrier’s top five runners.
