DAVIDSON, N.C. -- Rachel Woodlee and Stacy Byrd had 12 kills apiece as the Wofford College Terriers fell to the Davidson College Wildcats, 3-1 (25-21, 21-25, 25-21, 25-21) Sunday in a Southern Conference match in Belk Arena.
Woodlee and Byrd both had three errors while Woodlee had 33 attempts for a .273 hitting percentage and Byrd swung 29 times for a .310 hitting percentage.  Woodlee also added two block assists as the recorded a team-high 13 points.  Woodlee has led or shared the team lead in kills in three of the last four matches.
Wofford opened the first set with a 6-1 lead, before Davidson tied the set at seven. The two teams traded the lead until the Wildcats broke a 16-16 on two Terrier errors to take an 18-16 lead.  Wofford won the next point, to make it 18-17, but Davidson took the next three points to extend the lead to 21-17.  A kill by Davidson’s  Madison Benedict and two more Terrier errors sparked the run.  Wofford was unable to rally as they fell 25-21.  Wofford had 19 points and a five total team blocks compared to Davidson’s 15 points and no team blocks in the set.
In the second set the Terriers fell behind 7-4, but regrouped to tie the set at 11 on a Woodlee kill.  Wofford went on 6-2 run to take a 17-13 lead  as Reagan Styles served five consecutive points and Woodlee, Bryd, Wendy Burnett and Amanda Liguori all had kills during the run.  Davidson responded with a 4-0 run to tie the set at 17, but Wofford pulled away to take a 20-17 and took the set, 25-21, to even the match.  
Davidson led set three wire-to-wire as they took the set 25-21.  They held a nine point lead three times during the set.  Wofford outhit Davidson in the set .357 to .286, but the Wildcats had 18 points compared to the Terriers 14 points.
The fourth set was not much different than the third set, as the Wildcats fought off two Terrier ties as they took the set 25-21.  Wofford was never more than four points behind, but couldn’t close the margin.  Wofford hit .000 in the set compared to Davidson’s .114 hitting percentage.  The Terriers had nine kills and nine errors, while the Wildcats had 12 kills and seven errors in the final frame.
Liquori trailed Woodlee and Byrd for the Terriers with eight kills.  Bekah Dorsey recorded a double-double with 22 assists and 12 digs.  Styles collected a match-high 21 digs, while Amende and Arden Anderson had six total blocks.  Amende had three solo blocks and three block assists, while Anderson had one solo block and five block assists.  
Davidson was led by Sarabeth Peele, who had 19 kills and 21.5 points.  Jorden Benedict added ten kills and a .381 hitting percentage.  Hayley Lawson passed out 44 assists, while Molly Crenshaw and Jennifer Chamblee picked up 16 digs apiece.  
The Terriers will return to action at in-state rival, Furman, Wednesday at 7 p.m. before returning to the BenJo for senior day on November 6th against Elon.
