SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford College rifle team competed in the SEARC 3 match on Saturday, November 6 held in Anniston, Alabama. Overall, the Terriers fired a 2137 in NCAA scoring to finish fourth.
Stephen Bryant was the top scorer for Wofford at 565 for eighth place out of 48, as he has led the team in each match this season. The top NCAA shooter was Winston Dorian from The Citadel with a 571. Also shooting for the Terriers were Cody Chesneau (533), C.J. Tria with a career-best 528, and Cameron Ledbetter (511). Christine Shelton shot a 500 and Josh Mangan fired a 539 in SEARC scoring.
In the NCAA competition, The Citadel men's team claimed first place with a score of 2251, ahead of N.C. State, who finished second with a 2243. The Citadel women's team finished third at 2137, topping both Wofford (2137) and Mercer (1824).
In SEARC scoring, The Citadel men's team was first at 2265, followed by North Carolina State at 2243, North Georgia at 2232, Clemson at 2219, Wofford at 2165, Georgia Military College at 1904, and Mercer at 1824.
The Terriers will continue the season on November 13 when Wofford hosts the SEARC 4 match in Andrews Fieldhouse.
