CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The men’s and women’s cross country team competed in the Charlotte Duals Saturday morning with the women’s team going 3-2 and the men going 2-3.
Each team ran the 5k course then were scored against each other head-to-head in the dual race format.
On the men’s side, the Terriers were led by Justin Whitaker who ran a 17:03.56 over the 5k distance to finish in 31st. Matt Menard and Russell Baker finished 32nd and 33rd with times of 17:03.70 and 17:12.24 respectively. Hunter McGahee finished in 41st with a time of 17:43.33, and Mavrick Harris finished in 45th with a time of 18:09.73 in 45th place to round out the Wofford top five.
Wofford went 2-3 with wins against Catawba and Wingate and loses to Gardner-Webb, St. Joseph’s and Charlotte.
Alissa Williams paced Wofford on the women’s side with a time of 19:25.19 to finish in 8th place. Alyssa Burkert turned in a time of 19:44.17 in 16th, while Kim Stauffer finished with a time of 19:49.51 good enough for 18th place. Sam Hughes and Niki Klasnic completed the top five with times of 19:55.28 and 20:19.64 for 22nd and 27th places, respectively.
In the women's dual meet the Terriers went 3-2. They picked up wins against Gardner-Webb, Wingate and Catawba, and lost to Charlotte and St. Joseph’s.
