SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- The Wofford College men’s and women’s cross country teams opened the 2011 season at the Eye Opener Meet in Spartanburg Friday night.

On the women’s side the Terriers finished in tenth place out of 20 teams. Caroline Burdette led Wofford with a personal best 20:36 and finished in 43.  Niki Klasnic finished in 50th place with a time of 20:56. Caroline Liddy followed with a 21:04.  Freshman Stacey Morgan and Rachel Cooley rounded out the Wofford top five with times of 21:31 and 22:22, respectively.

The men finished in fifteenth place out of seventeen teams and were led by Trey Parker with a time of 28:16, which was good enough for 54th place.  Mavrick Harris followed with a time of 31:04.  Freshman Sam Parrott, Tyler Slonecki and Parker Johnson wrapped up the Terrier top five with times of 31:16, 31:39 and 34:07.

The Terriers will return to the course on September 10 in the Charlotte Duals.
