MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. – The Wofford cross country teams finished the Southern Conference Championship Meet with the women taking ninth and the men finishing in 11th.
The women’s team finished with 212 points, one point shy of eighth place, UNCG. Appalachian State won with Elon and Samford rounding out the top three.
The men’s team finished with 303 points. Appalachian State won with Chattanooga and UNCG rounding out the top three.
Alyssa Burkert led the women’s team with a 30th place finish with a time of 18:28.00, while Nicole Klasnic followed in 31st with a time of 18:28.03. Sam Hughes finished 42nd with after a time of 18:43.95, and Alissa Williams finished just outside the top 50 in 54th with a time of 19:15.02. Katie Kessler was the final Terrier runner to score in 55th with a time of 19:15.69.
On the men’s side, Ryan Doyle had the lowest Terrier time with a 39th finished and a time of 26:19.91. Alex Michaels finished in 61st after a time of 27:21.52, while Russell Baker finished four spots behind in 65th with a time of 27:40.08. Matt Menard ran a time of 28:02.02, while Daniel Phillips completed the course in a time of 28:11.09 and in 70th place.
