SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford College rifle team competed in the SEARC 3 match on Saturday at The Citadel. All four Terrier shooters fired personal records as the team finished third.
Freshman shooter Tommy McKelvey led the Terriers with a 586. It was the top individual score in school history, topping the 579 fired by Jordan Rawl in 2010. McKelvey finished second overall. Jim Stanley had a 579 to finish third overall. Nygia Bost had a 563 and Isaac Halverson fired a 512.
The Citadel took first with a 2287, followed by North Georgia at 2279 and Wofford with a 2240. Clemson was fourth at 2238, Alabama Birmingham fifth at 2203, and Georgia Military had a 2144. Forty-five shooters competed at the Citadel. North Georgia’s Casadie Bragg won the match with an impressive 589.
The next match for the Terriers will be Saturday, December 1 in the SEARC 4 match. It will be hosted by Wofford in Andrews Fieldhouse.
