SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford women’s cross country team took third while the men finished 17th at the Eye Opener Meet Friday night in the programs’ seasoning opening meet.
 
Freshman Marella Angello led the women’s team with a fourth place finish and a time of 19:21.9, while Carly Eagn took 19th with a time of 20:14.2.  Kiersten Ellsworth finished with a time of 20:44.7 in 28th place, and Kim Stauffer followed right behind with a 20:48.9 in 32nd place.  Nancy Ford was the final Terrier runner with a time of 21:00.1 in 38th place.
 
On the men’s side, Ryan Doyle paced the Terriers with a time of 28.35.1 and in 44th place.  Daniel Phillips finished with a time of 28:53.3 and in 55th place.  Kyle Hofman followed with a time of 31:44.44 in 129th and Parker Johnson finished the course in 32:25.5 for 144th.  Michael Reamer ran a 32:46.6 and finished in 148th, while William Fahey completed the Wofford runners with a time of 36:08.8 in 186th.
 
Wofford will run in its next race in the Charlotte Duals on September 8.
