DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The Wofford College rifle team competed in the SEARC 5 match at the University of North Georgia. The Terriers finished fourth overall with a 4385 for the match.
Tommy McKelvey finished first for Wofford in air rifle with a 570 followed by Josh Mangan (568), Jim Stanley (567), and Nygia Bost (532) for 2237. Erin Lee and Isaac Halverson also shot air rifle for Wofford. In small bore, Josh Mangan led the Wofford shooters with a 543 followed by Jim Stanley (540), Tommy McKelvey (533), and Erin Lee (532) for a 2148. Nygia Bost also shot small bore for Wofford.
NC State won the match with 4604 followed by the host, University of North Georgia (4517), the Citadel (4474), Wofford (4385), and Georgia Southern (2233). In non-NCAA competition, Clemson shot 2239 and Georgia Military 2102 in air rifle at the match.
The team will host UAB on Saturday, November 16 before taking a break in competition until January.
