CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Wofford College rifle team posted an air rifle score of 2262 to take fourth place at the Southeastern Air Rifle Conference Championships this weekend at the Inouye Marksmanship Center on The Citadel campus.
In team scoring, Wofford, with 2262, finished behind NC State (4606), University of North Georgia (4531) and the Citadel men (4452). The Terriers defeated the Citadel women for the first time ever, along with Georgia Southern and Alabama Birmingham. Wofford also defeated Clemson and Georgia Military in non-NCAA competition on Saturday.Â
Tommy McKelvey led team efforts with a score of 577. Jim Stanley (574), Josh Mangan (561), and Erin Lee (550) also fired for the Terriers in the match.
NC State won the match with a score of 2322. North Georgia was second at 2292, followed by The Citadel at 2282 and Wofford at 2262. Georgia Southern (2259), UAB (2227), Clemson (2168), and Georgia Military (2164) rounded out the standings.
Wolfpack shooter Maddy Pike (583), along with teammate Lucas Kozeniesky (582), took the top two overall spots at the championships.
