KERNERSVILLE, N.C. – The Wofford College men's and women's cross country teams competed at the VertCross Invitational hosted by High Point University on Friday afternoon at the Ivey M. Redmon Sports Complex. The women finished 12
th overall, while the men were 13
th in the field.

In the men's 8k race, Cristian Widehouse was the first Terrier to cross the line in 26:27.82. He was followed by
Jack Zemp (26:48.84),
Ethan Epstein (27:05.60),
Cisco Ferre (27:06.38) and
Jonathan Rice (27:23.76) to round out the top five. Also competing for Wofford were
Joe Harbacevich,
Dane Szalwinski,
Ben Boatwright and
Walker Gibbs.

The women's 6k race followed and
Taryn Schoen was the top finisher for Wofford in 23:18.34.
Anya Bunao (23:28.15),
Mary Stewart Wilson (23:32.29),
Shannon McAndrew (23:55.27) and
Sommer McKenzie (24:30.98) completed the top five scorers. The Terriers were also represented by
Alexandra Christopoulos,
Jamie Barnett,
Anna Lyles,
Rebeka Fadgyas,
Rebeka Parent, and
Madison Paraskeva.

George Mason took first place for the men out of 21 total teams, while Duke was first for the women out of 19 teams. The competitive field of included regionally-ranked teams NC State (No. 4 Southeast), Campbell (No. 5 Southeast), Davidson (No. 10 Southeast), George Mason (No. 13 Southeast), Appalachian State (No. 14 Southeast) and East Tennessee State (No. 15 South).

Next for both the men's and women's teams will be the Southern Conference Championship on Saturday, October 29 in Chattanooga.
