CARY, N.C. – The Wofford men's tennis team concluded play in the ITA Regional on Sunday afternoon in Cary, N.C.

Patrick Longest,
Kyle Barr,
Parks Schoen,
Lucas Cerbelli and
Julian Chousa were the six Terriers who competed in the event. 25 teams sent players to the tournament, which consisted of championship and consolation draws in both singles and doubles.
For the Terriers, day one of play was highlighted by freshman
Lucas Cerbelli's 6-4, 6-2 victory over UNCG's Ian Melnik.
After losing his first match to #2 seed Ronnie Schneider (UNC) in three sets,
Haris Poric rebounded on Friday afternoon in the first round of the consolation singles bracket, defeating East Carolina's Will Bissett, 7-6 (5), 7-6 (6). Poric was able to continue the momentum to Saturday, when he took down Visily Kiching, 6-4, 6-3, to advance to the consolation singles round of 16.
Wofford's greatest success over the weekend came in doubles, as
Julian Chousa and Poric defeated Presbyterian in their first match, before also ousting #5 seed Clemson on Saturday, 7-5, 6-3.
Cerbelli and
Patrick Longest also won their first doubles match, 7-5, 6-4, over Elon.
The team will be back in action next weekend, as they will take part in the Winthrop Invitational in Rock Hill, S.C. The three day event begins Friday, Oct. 21. and will conclude on Sunday, Oct. 23
