CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Wofford College men's and women's cross country teams competed on Saturday morning at the Will Wilson Citadel Invitational and both teams finished first. The women took first place with 23 points as
Taryn Schoen was second overall, while the men were first with 36 points as four runners were in the top ten.

In the women's 5K race,
Taryn Schoen had a time of 19:09.30 to finish second overall and
Anya Bunao was in third at 19:19.59.
Shannon McAndrew was fifth at 19:32.51,
Mary Stewart Wilson took sixth at 19:54.73,
Sommer McKenzie finished seventh at 20:07.71,
Jamie Barnett was eighth at 20:32.58 and
Rebeka Fadgyas was ninth at 20:37.84.
Anna Lyles,
Alexa Golbus,
Ashley Golbus and
Madison Paraskeva also ran for the Terriers.

The men's 8K race was next and
Cristian Widenhouse was the top Wofford finisher at 27:28.04 in fourth place.
Jack Zemp was sixth at 27:35.13,
Cisco Ferre was seventh at 27:43.96,
Ethan Epstein took ninth at 28:17.27 and
Jonathan Rice was twelfth at 28:35.17. Also competing for the Terriers were
Dane Szalwinski,
Ben Boatwright and
Joe Harbacevich.

Overall, Wofford was first in the women's race (23 points), followed by The Citadel (65 points), Charleston Southern, South Carolina State, Benedict, Francis Marion, Claflin, Savannah State, and Morris. For the men. Wofford was first (36 points), with The Citadel (48 points), Francis Marion, Benedict, South Carolina State, Morris, and Claflin rounding out the field.

Both the men's and women's teams will be back in action on Saturday, October 1 at the USC Upstate Invitational held at Milliken Park in Spartanburg.
