SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford men's tennis team fell to Appalachian State, 6-1, on a windy Saturday afternoon at Reeves Tennis Center.

The loss drops the Terriers to 8-4 on the season. Today's loss was the team's first home loss of the season.

The Mountaineers seized control of the match early, as their no. 2 doubles team of Trey Morris and Jack Maddocks won their match, 6-1. In the no. 3 doubles position. Wofford's team of
Haris Poric and
Julian Chousa fell, 6-4, in the no. 1 position to give the Mountaineers a 1-0 lead heading into singles play.

After
Lucas Cerbelli lost his match to Scott Webster, 6-2, 6-2, in the no. 1 singles slot, the Terriers rebounded with a 6-2, 6-4 win from
Peter Coombs in the no. 6 spot.

Unfortunately, the Mountaineers responded by winning the final four singles matches to earn the 6-1 victory, all of which were straight set wins.

Jack Maddocks defeated
Parks Schoen, 7-5, 6-2, in the no. 2 position to put Appalachian State within one win of taking the match.

When the Mountaineers' Milo Bargeron won his match, 6-1, 6-4, over
Julian Chousa in the no. 4 position, App State clinched the match at 4-1.

With the match clinched, the Mountaineers took the final two singles matches to put the final score at 6-1.
