SPARTANBURG, S.C. -Â The Wofford men's basketball team announced two signees for its 2019 class on Wednesday, as Hunter Cattoor and Zac Ervin announced their commitments to Wofford College by signing their respective National Letters of Intent.
Hailing from Orlando, Florida, Cattoor is a 6-3 combo guard who attends Bishop Moore Catholic High School. As a junior, Cattoor helped lead Bishop Moore to a 23-5 record, making it to the regional quarterfinals for the first time as a team. Cattoor is the 21
st ranked player in the state of Florida and averaged 14 points per game, 6.0 rebounds per game, 3.7 assists per game and 2.5 steals per game last season. Cattoor shot 47% from the field and 38% from 3-point range as a junior and has been named the Jim Clark Classic and Bishop Moore team MVP for the past two seasons, earning Bishop Moore Men's Basketball Co-MVP honors as a freshman.
Off the court, Cattoor is a member of the Athletic Honor Society, High Honor Roll and is active in the community, participating in the Salvation Army, Feeding the Homeless and the Thanksgiving Basket Brigade. Cattoor's parents, Rodney and Kathy Cattoor, both attended Kansas State while his brother Bryce played volleyball at Florida State (2015-18) and his sister Taylor graduated from Central Florida in 2013.
A native of Gate City, Virginia, Ervin was named first team all-state as a sophomore and junior for Gate City High School, helping his team to the Virginia Group AA State Championship title last season. Ervin, who averaged over 20 points per game each year, has been named first team all-region and first team all-district in each of his three seasons playing for Gate City. As a freshman, Ervin helped Gate City to the Virginia Group AA Final Four and his team made the Elite 8 as a sophomore. Entering his senior season, Ervin has 1,675 career points for his career.
Off the court, Ervin is a member of the National Honor Society and has made first honor roll in every semester, putting him in the top 10 for his graduating class of 2019. Ervin is the son of Greg (Virginia Tech) and Gayle Ervin (Carson-Newman), and his great uncle Herman Davis attended Wofford.
