The Malcolm U. Pitt Player of the Year is voted on by the SoCon Sports Media Association. The Player of the Year honor is Wofford's third in program history and the first since Karl Cochran in 2014-15. It is the third consecutive postseason award for the junior, who was a First-Team selection in 2016-17 and the conference Freshman of the Year in 2015-16. Magee was also named to the First-Team by both the media and the coaches. ETSU's Desonta Bradford was the Player of the Year chosen by the league's coaches.
Â
Magee, who ended the regular season averaging 22.3 points per game, led the conference in scoring all season, finishing with more than six points on average than UNCG's Francis Alonso. Â
Magee was named SoCon Player of the Week three times this season, the most by any player in the conference, and was the Player of the Month in both November and December.
