SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford College men's and women's cross country teams competed on Friday at the Asheville Invitational held on the campus of the Asheville Christian Academy. The men and women both finished second among the Division I teams in their respective races.

In the women's 5K race,
Mary Stewart Wilson was the first Terrier to finish with a time of 19:54.25 to place seventh overall.
Rebeka Fadgyas was 15
th with a time of 20:34.07, while
Whitley Elsass took 19
th place at 20:53.0.
Mia Girardi (21:22.81),
Anastasia Burroughs (23:19.01) and
Ashley McCreary (24:07.14) also competed for the Terriers. Â Â

The men's 8K competition followed and
Jack Moody led Wofford with a 20
th place finish in 28:05.44. Also running for the Terriers were
Walker Gibbs (29:11.84),
Ben Boatwright (29:13.48),
Dane Szalwinski (30:17.07), and
Nick Butler (30:48.37). Â Â Â

Teams competing in the event included UNC Asheville, Gardner-Webb, Wofford, Belmont Abbey, Lees-McRae, Limestone, Mars Hill, Milligan, North Carolina Central and Tennessee Wesleyan. UNC Asheville took first place in both the men's and women's races.

Both the men's and women's teams will be back in action on Saturday, September 29 as the Terriers will compete at the Louisville Classic and the Upstate Invitational.
