A.J. Kerr Joins Wofford Basketball Staff

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford College men's basketball head coach Jay McAuley announced that A.J. Kerr has joined the basketball staff as athletic performance coach.

Kerr joined the Wake Forest basketball program for the 2016-17 season as a sports performance assistant. He assists the director of athletic performance with the team's program in addition to handling some of the basketball operations.

"Continuing to provide our team with a well-qualified, basketball-specific performance coach is crucial for our program moving forward," said McAuley. "This will allow our players to continue to train and gain confidence in their bodies before the semester ends, while setting the stage for the improvements we expect to make this summer. The bar was set high last year and I am confident that our selection will live up to those standards.

"We are so excited to add such a talented and energetic performance coach to our staff," continued McAuley. "AJ's reputation across the country is something that we were very impressed with. His experiences in the ACC, Big 10, and the MAC have prepared him to elevate our program to new heights. Our fans will continue to see a team full of tough and well-conditioned players, and AJ will be a huge part of that."

Kerr was a graduate assistant in the strength and conditioning department at Ball State during the 2015-16 season. He also served as a strength and conditioning intern at Notre Dame and Purdue.

A native of Ellettsville, Indiana, Kerr graduated from Purdue in 2015 with a degree in applied exercise and health with a concentration in sports performance. He earned a master's degree in sports performance from Ball State in 2017.
