SPARTANBURG, S.C. – After leading the program to its best season in school history, former Wofford men's basketball players Fletcher Magee and Cameron Jackson have been preparing for what's next – professional basketball.
Since the season ended in late March, Magee participated in the college 3-point competition and the 3-on-3 tournament held in Minneapolis leading up to the NCAA Final Four, as well as the Portsmouth Invitational which serves as an NBA pre-draft camp for college seniors. While training in New York, the Orlando, Florida, native signed Sean Kennedy and Jared Mucha of Excel Sports Management to represent him. Kennedy currently represents 13 NBA players including: Hassan Whiteside, Shaun Livingston, Ricky Rubio, Jahlil Okafor and Semi Ojeleye. The NCAA's all-time 3-point leader, who has already worked out for 10 NBA teams, has workouts scheduled with the Houston Rockets and Milwaukee Bucks and will likely add more before the NBA Draft. The teams that Magee has showcased his skills for are the: Bulls, Cavaliers, Celtics, Kings, Knicks, Lakers Mavericks, Pistons, Spurs and the Suns.
Like Magee, Jackson has stayed busy since the Terrier season ended, participating in the 3-on-3 tournament, NABC All-Star Game, Portsmouth Invitational and the Professional Basketball Combine which was held at the Mamba Sports Academy in Thousand Oaks, California (May 21-22). The 6-8 forward, who signed with Potter Sports Group, has drawn interest from teams both in the NBA and overseas and has worked out for the Sacramento Kings. Jackson's training home has been the Ashe Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana, which is home to NBA G League's Fort Wayne Mad Ants franchise.
Once Magee and Jackson end up inking their pro deals, the duo will join the 23 professional players that the Wofford program has produced in the last decade alone.
The 2019 NBA Draft will be held on Thursday June 20 at 7 p.m. at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, and will be broadcast on ESPN.
